I am planning a family history research trip to Jackson County in about 2 weeks, and would like to contact someone from the association to get some inside tips as to where to begin. My ancestors were some of the very first settlers of Jackson County….the Hailes, the Browns, the McDonalds, the Sadlers, etc. I have a lot of information already from census records, etc. But I want to come there to take pictures of the land, the homesites, the cemeteries, etc. I also want to copy any documentation I can find of family histories, family bibles, family photos, old newspapers, documents, land records, etc. I am coming from northern Virginia.
